By God’s Grace…Restored and Recommissioned!
In August 2009, I acknowledged to my wife Meredith that there had been moral failure in my life. I disclosed the specifics to her and assured her that I had genuinely repented before God and had truly forsaken my sin. At that point, we began a very painful but necessary and ultimately fruitful journey.
Three well respected leaders – Bishop Timothy J. Clarke of Columbus, OH; Pastor John K. Jenkins of Glenarden, MD; and Dr. Richard Allen Farmer of Dallas, TX, along with our personal/marriage therapist, guided and oversaw the process.
Eventually, the team informed me that their requirements had been met and that they were in agreement that I was ready to return to public ministry.
The Interstate Association of the Church of God (which holds my ministry credentials/ordination) accepted the restoration team’s recommendation, and at a national Church of God convention joined with several pastors and church officials as they laid hands on Meredith and me and recommissioned us to public ministry.
God be praised for the profound work He has done in my personal life and our marriage. We’ve returned to ministry with the prayer and expectation that God will use the experience gained and the lessons learned throughout this process for His glory.
We will always be grateful for the thousands of you who prayed for, encouraged, and supported us throughout the restoration period.
